K.M. Broman, Esq.,1
Niagara Parks Commission
Niagara Falls, Ontario

Dear Matt:

Have you got two or three Magnolias Stellata available which could be planted in Mr. Walters' garden? I do not know if this is hardy enough to grow at Port Credit, but if it is I thought perhaps a small group of them might be planted there this year.

I am also anxious to get you to trim a tree in my garden, the Chinese Pagoda tree . There is so much soot and smoke there that it will be quite a dirty job and the boys ought to come up with their overalls. Charge both of these to my account

Faithfully yours,
T.B. McQuesten

1 Matt Broman worked very closely with Thomas B. McQuesten on many of his projects in Hamilton and in Niagara. There is a plaque commemorating Matt Broman's work at the RBG near the Thomas B. McQuesten High Level Bridge. There is also a small lookout park named after him on the brow overlooking King's Forest Park in Hamilton. The series of letters beginning with "986" are all part of the Broman collection.

For more information on T.B. McQuesten see his biography.
