W9861o TO ELLISON KAUMEYER from his associate Matt Broman

Niagara Parks Commission
Memorandum

May 10 1939

Chairman's attention

To C. Elliston Kaumeyer, Esquire,
General Manager.
Subject: Collecting Flowers for Herbarium at Training School.

The old herbarium which Mr. Cameron collected in 1984 for the Parks Commission is not in very good condition, even though we have done our best to preserve it. I have heard the herbarium was saved from a fire many years ago and it is not up to date.

I would like to recommend that Mr. George Hamilton, our botanical instructor, collect, with the students during the summer months, additional flowers for the improvement of the herbarium.

May I suggest paying Mr. Hamilton $6.00 a day with the hours, 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M., not including Saturdays.

Mr Hamilton will be free to start the work June 20, approximately.

The collection of plants will be most valuable for the students as we have our lectures in the winter time and they will have this excellent material to study from.

Respectfully submitted,
K.M. Broman1,2
Superintendent of Arboriculture.

June 23/37 Approved C.E. Kaumeyer
