From: 'Whitehern,' Hamilton, Ontario
My dear Calvin,
Last night at prayer meeting Mrs. Haslett requested me to tell you how much she missed your prayers at prayer meeting, that you had such a beautiful voice etc. etc. Mary wanted me to say from her that you were greatly missed at the St. Paul's ones, she had enjoyed hearing you there tremendously. They are a warm-hearted pair although Rachel is inclined to be flighty sometimes.
Olive Harris is trying to sell her house in Toronto, as she is not going back to it. She intends taking a smaller house and just keeping one maid. She kept on Betheden in order to entertain missionaries but as Tom expressed it, she has got fed up on that and when she had two maids they fought so she's going to retire into a small house and live in peace and quietness.
Lorna is taking a house in Oakville and moving there next month, as rents are less down there. She beginning of June she and Robert Gordon sail for England to spend the summer with Mrs. Culham and Olive and Marion.
Yesterday we went to Mrs. Bell's to spend the afternoon and hear about her visit to Herbie. I had such a strong big cup of chocolate that I dreamt furiously when I got to bed.
This is some more bargain note paper I'm writing on, I got it at Cloke's for 11c for the box. Must close now as I have to send a few lines to Alice.
