My dear Cal,
Many happy returns of the day! Mrs. McQ. is sending a couple of books one of which can be credited to me. I am glad to hear of your enormous girth. I'll have to take a backseat row if you keep on. Should judge that you are in a very satisfactory place. Certainly anything I know of that country appeals to me greatly. Edna is looking forward immensely to paying you a visit this summer.
We have had a tremendously hot spell here for most of the last week. Today it is quite cool but have had practically no air.
I thought I might have been in Ottawa again this spring on the Railway business but it turned out not to be necessary. I had thought of running down and looking you up. The time before when I was down I saw Greig whom you may remember. He was inquiring for you.
Well take care of yourself my son and make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Your affectionate bro'
T. B. McQuesten
