From: Colbourne, Ontario
Dear Tim [sic]:
I am hear [sic] for a day or so helping Thornton out. Am picking up the Globe. [T]his morning I noticed the announcement of your sister's death.1
Having passed through an experience something similar in the loss of my father recently I am in a position to appreciate your loss.
I do not see you often Tim, but I hear great and promising reports of your work in your profession and, in the name of our old associations in Varsity I felt constrained to write you a line, extending to you and your mother my sincerest sympathy.
Your mother will feel this loss keenly but she is very fortunate in having such a son to take your father's place in such a time as this.
It is just such responsibilities as have fallen upon you Tim that make us men.
I wish you success in your work and God's own comfort in your troubles
