1 Sohmer Park was located along the St. Lawrence River Shoreline. It is considered one of the first Amusement parks in Montreal, as it hosted music recitals and concerts. The park was destroyed by a fire on March 24, 1919. As a result of financial strains, the owners were unable to rebuild the park and the land was sold by the city.
