W7657 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from Isaac Clark
Sep 13 1907
To: Calvin McQuesten Glenhurst, Saskatchewan
From: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Dear Mr. McQuesten,
I got your letter dated the second, and was glad of your offer I will be pleased to buy Nigger if our conditions will suit you.1 We will try and have the money before you go away but if not we would like to have till the first of December if that will do. When you want to go away if you will bring Nigger up as far as near Sec.14.34.G. I will drive you to town and bring Nigger back.
Your sincere friend
1 "Nigger" is Calvin's horse which he sold to Isaac Clark. Clark, being not particularly well off, was unable to pay off the entire price for the horse until sometime early in spring 1908. Annie Clark appears to be Isaac's sister and Hannah Clark may also be a sister but seems to speak about herself and Isaac as "we" and so she may in fact be Isaac's wife.
See W7658, W7661, W7668, W7697, W7703, W7704, W7723, W7777 for more about Isaac's purchase of "Nigger."
