My Dear Mr. McQuesten,
Your very kind note of Oct. 3rd just received. While I knew you were considering leaving Montreal, I had no idea that you had actually gone and regret very much not having seen you. However, I hope that you will soon be back in Montreal again. It evidently has a place in your heart from the manner in which you write, and I trust it may be possible for you to become permanently located here.
We are exceedingly busy and everything seems to be under the very heaviest pressure. With the Building at point St. Charles and the general work here it seems almost impossible to have time to eat and sleep. We have our first meeting to-night of the new Committee that will undertake the erection of the Annex to this Building, and that will bring much additional work as it entirely depends upon the securing of $60 to $70 thousand dollars which is no small task to undertake.
