My dearest Tom

Very many happy returns of the day when the 30th comes! May God bless and spare you for you be the joy and and [sic] comfort and support you have always been to me, My dear, dear child. So very glad to receive your letter this morning Glad the roses are picking up. We had a tremendous day yesterday as guests of W.F.M.S ladies of Westminster taken up in cars to see immense lumber mills down Fraser R. Then to old St. Andrews first church built over 50 yrs ago. Then to a lady's house for tea when Mayor received and addressed us. Then back again too late for dinner and had to get supper after 9 o'clock at cafe. Will leave by Nanaimo boat on Monday 10 am for late train there for Alberni. Return to Victoria Wednesday, back here Friday and start for Skagway on 29th. Better address letters here. Will be back here on 8th July. Take good care of yourself dearie. Sent you a little present which will hold a pot of your bulbs in the winter. Made by the Indians on the Pacific. Sorry not to find something better for you.

With fondest love and best wishes dearest boy.

Your loving mother

M.B. McQuesten
