W6151 TO [REV.] CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten

To: Calvin McQuesten Glenhurst Saskatchewan
My dearest Calvin,
Hurrah! At last your name is in the list of B.A.'s The family unite in hearty congratulations. Still I always feel provoked to think you were kept out of it last year. The convocation and results are a week later this year. I hope this is not too late to reach you next week. Your letter did not come yesterday as usual, but something has detained. Woe! woe for the Liberals! It is a sad record this morning. And I do dislike Whitney so much, Mrs. Mullin thinks he looks like a Jew and I think he is like a down East Yankee. Mrs. Mullin is in peak excitement starting off for Minneapolis to see Robin. Tom was up over Sabbath, the Book keeper in the office Miss Heel managed to save him his law fees by speaking to Mr. Spence and the firm pays them. You see he did not pay the Osgoode annual fees of $17 in October as he did not think he had to do so the first year after paying nearly $300 already and he asked McBeth at Osgoode but he never knows anything so he had a fine of $6.00 and though he wrote and protested could not get it. So Tom did not like to speak to the Firm but Miss Heel spoke for him. Very warm weather but feeling well. E. waiting to post this. With much love from all.
Your loving Mother
