Many happy returns of the day dear Calvin.1
It is a burning shame that you should be at exams on your birthday but cheer up it may be the last time.
Have fun staying with May Stephens for a few days, playing auntie to the kids Can't say I especially enjoy it when I have my best blouse on. Harold is a dear but learned he is a little terror. Luckily I don't hear her at night is [or??] turn my deaf car up.
We had a great time packing up but everything has gone on all right and we leave for Oakville on Thursday. Was up to see the Colquhouns yesterday and they were inquiring for you. They have three of the sweetest little fox terrier puppies. Roderich offered me one but I knew Mamma's views on the subject. All of our friends seem to approve of our getting the hosue and Mrs. Bell declares they will never be able to get out of the house before December of course every month makes it better for us. We are to have the Rev. James Little for our Anniversary next Sunday. Can't see why they did not have a more promising preacher. I suppose by this time Tom is pretty well over his exams. Am glad you are feeling so fit. When you come to Oakville you will have your birthday cake and dinner. As I have to meet Mary Taylor to go to May Clarks will have to close,
With lots of love,
Your loving sister
Mary B. McQuesten
1 Calvin is turning thirty on May 1st, 1906.
