Saturday 15th, September.
I am leaving my home for the first time to enter upon a new scene of school life without my parents to advise me. I came down in the [cars?] with the Volunteers who went to Thorold. When I arrived at Mrs. Burns' had a very bad headache, had to lay down.
Got a little better and went to the park to hear the Band play. Walked with Jessie Smith. Saw Georgie Creighton but hardly recognized him. He had grown so much and is so stylish.
My room mates are Maggie and Jessie Smith, Maggie [?], Annie [F?] [?] [?]
It was a very beautiful day, McFayden very pleasant coming down in the [cars?] [Papa?] missed the [cars?]
Went to Church both morning, evening, a very wet day poured in the evening [Papa was there?] A large church. Mr. King preached very plain but good earnest sermons.
