Rev. Thomas Baker,
Dear Sir:-- I am directed by Mr. Piddington to acknowledge the receipt of your kind favour of a week ago and to thank you for your kindly words and sympathy.
I am glad to be able to report that he is much better than he was, though not able to leave his bed yet. Hemorrhage of the lungs when long continued is very weakening. And it will be a long time before Mr. Piddington will be the man he was before the attack.
We send herewith by express, Greene's "Making of England" & his "History of the English People." We charge the books at the published prices and so cannot allow the usual 10% discount.
Yours very truly
R.W. Douglas, Manager
