To Rev T Baker

My esteemed friend

Just a few lines to inform you I have just received intelligence of the almost sudden departure of my loved Christian friend your beloved sister, I posted a letter to dear Mrs Baker last week informing you all I could about how I having been confined to my room the last fortnights with bronchitis I regret very much I was unable to visit my dear friend, we have not been those without hope as we feel afsured [sic] your sister is safe in the arms of Jesus the suddenly has made me feel very sad, though I should like you to know as soon as pofsible [sic] I have just received a few lines from Mifs [sic] Pike about an hour after receiving the one from the nurse. I will enclose all [espressed/passed??] when health- and health will allow I will go to the Home then will write again.

Please excuse this rough note I cannot write more at present with kind love to you all I remain yours
Sincere friend
