W1725 TO DR. CALVIN BROOKS MCQUESTEN M.D. from Samuel A. Duncan
Mar 17 1885
To: 32 Park Place, New York City
From:

My Dear Doctor

I enclose to you herewith the original patent of Dunn Reissue 8467 as I have no further use for it.1

Yours Truly
Samuel. A. Duncan

[to] C.B. McQuesten M.D.

1 This patent was likely for train car couplers or the improvements thereof. Calvin Brooks' brother Isaac had been involved with William Dunn who had patented the devices, but Dunn had proved to be a poor business partner and Isaac lost some money to him. See W2554a for more about their business relationship.
