W1417 TO MR. C.D. CHAMPLIN from C.G. Billington
September 29, 1874
Mr. C.D. Champlin,
My friend Dr. McQuesten is about visiting Hammondsport. He would be glad to see your cellars etc. He is acquainted with Gardner, but as I know that he is away I take the liberty of commending him to you. Lest you should not recall my name. I will remind you that I enjoyed your pleasant hospitalities at the cellar some years ago when on a visit to my cousin Gardner. You will find any attentions paid Dr. McQuesten worthily bestowed.
1 Hammondsport is in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
