Dearest Tom

Just a few lines to say that Ruby is feeling much better. Did not know it, but after she came to cottage had one of her attacks of chills and fever, but now her stomach seems to be recovering itself and she enjoyed her meals yesterday, is free from nausea, and last night said she felt better than she had done for many weeks. Cough better too; enjoys the heat.1 Very warm yesterday, but night cool.

Carrie B. goes today. Too bad about Aleck Logie.

The netting round verandah great comfort. Elsewhere mosquitoes terrible, that is outside.

With much love dearie,

Your mother
