THIS MAY CERTIFY THAT Miss E. R. E. Baldwin of Antrim, N.H. has satisfied us that she possesses those moral and literary qualifications which the law requires, in order to teach a public school; and that we hereby give our approbation to her teaching School in this town, the ensuing season.1

1 Estimate R.E. Baldwin had been teaching for several years, and Rev. Dr. Tenney of Northampton had written her in January 1844, wanting her to come as principal to the school in Northampton (W-MCP5-6.326). She married Dr. Calvin McQuesten in September of 1844.
