Dear Miss Baldwin,

Accept my warmest thanks, dear Miss Baldwin for your recent letter which was duly received, and I intended answering it the week before Mrs. Wilson came here, but was prevented by a severe cold, and since then I have not found a moments time having had so many inquiries to make about my Nashua friends &c. I was truly surprised to learn you were in H. as I had not heard from you for more than a year, your ideas in regard to the people of H--coincide with mine, more complimentary. Those real warm hearted confidential friends.

You will excuse this brief note, and accept the trifle enclosed, please call on Mrs. Wilson, and she will tell you all about me, how fleshy I am &c. do write to me again soon, your letter gave me much pleasure for several reasons, one especially that you still remembered me, and the 10 unworthy years close and confidence. When you write again let me hear from [Francis?] Fisher if you know anything about her, wherever God in his Providence may call you, let me hear from you occasionally, and you will very much oblige your truly affectionate friend.

H. S. Smith

[P.S.] We should be very happy to see you at Bristol
