W-MCP5-6.359 TO DR. CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his sister Mary Elisa
Jul 30 1841
To: Dr. Calvin McQuesten, Hamilton, Canada West
From: Hopkinton, New Hampshire

"Sister Mary Elisa, Hopkinton, to Dr. Cal re death of Margarette [Lerned, wife of Dr. Calvin McQuesten], 1843,1 [should be 1841] great and unexpected loss."

1 The date shown on the microfilm index is likely incorrect, the date can be read on the letter and it is July 30, 1841, which corresponds with the death of Margarette Barker (Lerned) McQuesten, wife of Dr. Calvin McQuesten, who died on July 13, 1841. Dr. McQuesten had a sister named Eliza and another named Mary.
