"Mrs. Martha Davis of Youngstown, 18461 to Mrs. McQ. niece of Esty, telling of death of Father and Mother in the West. Esty had visited them a few weeks previously--didn't like West, left Scaffold Prairie." 2

1 The date has been estimated by comparison with W-MCP5-6.357, dated May 1846, in which Dr. Calvin McQuesten states that he misses his wife visiting in the West, at Lawrenceville, Illinois.

2 Scaffold Prairie is in Greene County, in South Western Indiana, which is not too far from Lawrenceville, Illinois, where Estimate was visiting in May of 1846, see W-MCP5-6.357.
