Box 12-751 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his sister Edna McQuesten
Aug 12 1909
To: Rev. Calvin McQuesten [Likely, Glenhurst, Saskatchewan]
My dear Cal,
The family are in a condition of mad excitement at the thought of being the recipients of so much wealth. Although Mrs. McQ. threatens to keep the whole cheque herself.
I had a long letter from Lorna from Winnipeg. They spent from Wednesday till Saturday at the Clifton House, Niagara Falls and then to Hamilton and Toronto and on to Winnipeg stopping off there for a month as Jim was called away for a month on business. They expect to get into their house in Regina in about a month. Lorna said in [letter] Jim had got a splendid position in one of the finest towns in the West but the firm requested them to say nothing yet. So Lorna said she would write me as soon as she was at liberty to tell.
That was the Ports' brother who was shot. Carrie Barclay told Hubert Culham is engaged to Lulu Porte, that was the fat one of the two.
I had a letter from Olive Culham from the Elgin House, Lake Joseph. She and her mother were to spend a month there but her mother was called away on account of old Mr. Copp's illness. Lorna told me before that he had left the house to Mrs. Passmore, Birdie Copp that was & Miss Copp intended moving into a smaller house as she was tired of a large place.
I had a letter from Connie Turnbull and they expect their mother from England on Sept. 5th. Will close now as there is nothing more to tell you.
Your loving sister,
