Box 12-013 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN, B.A. from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten
Feb 28 1912 Wednesday
In care of (c/o)
To: Calvin McQuesten c/o Rev. A.E. Armstrong 439 Confederation Life Bldg. Toronto, Ontario

Dearest Calvin By this morning's Globe we see London has decided on Harper, I just take that as Providence's way of guiding you on into something better. God has something else for you; and if Mr. Mitchel comes to St. John's, you would not have enjoyed his company. Of course one is inclined to feel discouraged, but if you had received a call to these places you would have accepted, and God did not wish it.

Tom thinks Bracebridge more desirable and I would say so too as far as position goes, only in London you would have city conveniences and be nearer; but in summer Bracebridge would be far healthier and more bracing. You ought to have a better place than that, but it would not do for you to overstrain yourself. It is hard to be obliged to stay in the background. The first time you come home, I wish you could bring me a blue book, if you can get one. Let me know if I am to send your clothes. I have forgotten what you said. With much love and sympathy.

Your loving mother

M.B. McQuesten
